DesignBuilder and LCA: Instant Life Cycle Assessment from DesignBuilder v5.2.

From DesignBuilder v5.2, Designbuilder and LCA can work together effectively to help users save significant time and effort.
With the massive data platform provided by Oneclick LCA, DesignBuilder combines advanced energy simulation with the fastest modeling technology on the market so architects, engineers and energy assessors can reduce the environmental impact of their buildings. LCA One Click is the world’s leading Life Cycle Assessment and Life Cycle Costing tool, used by companies worldwide for Ecodesign, Green Building Credits and informed sustainability decisions. DesignBuilder 5.2. and newer versions have native integration with One Click LCA and it will allow users to:

  • Use the energy model for One Click LCA for additional material analysis
  • Achieve BREEAM Mat 01 LCA and LCC credits as well as LEED v4 LCA credits and materials
  • Use the One Click LCA material database to get a true picture of carbon & LCA performance

Transfer the energy model to One Click LCA for material modelling

On the toolbar of DesignBuilder 5.2. and newer versions, you will find an icon that takes you to One Click LCA:

Furthermore, if the required analysis scope goes beyond what is captured in the energy model (e.g. structural elements, foundations or external areas), they can be conveniently added directly to One Click LCA. This allows you to focus on the energy-related modelling scope in DesignBuilder.

Calculate BREEAM and LEED credits with pre-approved LCA One Click

One Click LCA is pre-approved LCA software for all versions of BREEAM. It can be used to achieve Mat 01 Life Cycle Assessment, Life Cycle Costing and other material credits. It is the most highly rated LCA software for BREEAM with 100% verified ratings, allowing you to achieve exemplary credits. One Click LCA also supports the BREEAM LCC range for both elemental and component level analysis, as well as BREEAM UK NC 2018, where Mat 01 LCA completely replaces the Green Guide. One Click LCA can support up to 7 + 3 exemplary credits for Mat 01. In addition, it can support the generation of seven other BREEAM compliant analyses, worth up to 14 credits, with a maximum potential of 24 credits.
